Locomotive Driver Assistant Program

Trojan Rail are taking expressions of interest for a Locomotive Driver Assistant Program in multiple locations across Newcastle Region including Greta. We’re currently seeking expressions of interest for our next intake, which we propose to commence in late October.

About Us: Trojan Rail, a division of Trojan Recruitment Group, is a specialist provider of accredited rail workforces to the Australian Rail Industry.
Trojan’s affiliation with the rail industry commenced over 20 years ago, with the provision of resources in the capacity of labour hire services.
Trojan Rail currently services Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.

About the training: This nationally accredited traineeship program has been designed to assist people from all walks of life to become a skilled Locomotive Driver Assistants.

Being a Locomotive Driver Assistant involves a broad range of specialised knowledge and skills in varied contexts to undertake skilled work within a train driving environment.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience: As there is no prior experience required to be successful, but we do require successful applicants to have outstanding experience within the following skills:

Application Process: As part of the recruitment process for these positions, you may be required to complete a range of assessments and screening activities. Components may include written assessments, psychometric assessments, and video interviews. You may be asked to attend a interview, provide at least 2 work related referees for reference checks and undertake pre-employment medical assessments that include drug and alcohol testing and fitness assessments.
