About the Role:

Are you an adaptable, positive, dedicated individual who is genuinely interested in starting your career in the Rail Industry? Trojan Rail are offering the opportunity to complete traineeships to become a qualified Locomotive Driver. Traineeships will be over an 24 month period and are scheduled to commence in the first half of 2022.

Throughout practical and theory training, a driver mentor will support you in learning, and will guide you to become a fully qualified Locomotive Driver.

Essential Requirements:
  • Ability to pass a CATEGORY 1 Rail Medical Assessment, including Drug, Alcohol and Musculoskeletal tests.
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance certificate
  • A strong commitment to safety with confidence to identify workplace risks
  • Current unrestricted Class C driver’s license
  • Ability to work shift work
  • Proven attendance record (either school or recent employment)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to contribute positively to a team environment
